I'm just wondering what file will be used, or at least how updated it will be.
For example, I just glanced at the catchers, and noticed Ramon Hernandez is a 91 and neither Victor Martinez or Russell Martin were in the top 5.

I can only offer what Mogul gives me. Keep in mind that Mogul '08 is actually based off of 2006 stats and will play the 2007 season, like most sports titles, it is a year behind.
Mogul will fluctuate the stat ratings a bit each time you start up a new game. Mogul's OVR ratings are based on everything for that player. Kendall is rated highly as a catcher because he is a good defensive catcher and up until last year, usually carried a near .300 average with minimal pop.
Also, just because a player's peak rating is already reached doesn't mean that if he performs well that his peak will not increase, especially for players in their early to mid 20's. You can expect players that are in their mid 30's to have their peaks drop no matter how well they do...it is called Father Time catching up to a player. No matter how good a player is, age will sap their talent eventually.
If you guys have any remedies for importing a more recent file for every player concerned, I am all for it.

Looks like there are a couple of Roster Update files that I can download and import into Baseball Mogul. One is Opening Season Rosters for the 2007 season and one is Post 2007 Season and ratings and such reflected based upon the 2007 Stats. To me, the latest one seems like the better one. Here is a link where you can read up. www.sportsmogul.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=160105Which one do you all think I should get? My vote is for the end of 2007.

I have just added another post to the available catchers post. The latest one is the list of catchers from the latest roster update that I can find which is v2.91.
Check it out and let me know what you think. It is the latest update and the players are supposedly now rated with based on their 2007 stats.
Some of the top draft picks from 2007 should also be on their teams and available to draft (like for the Orioles I see Matt Wieters and Jake Arietta) who were not listed on the default rosters that came with Mogul.
I think we should use the latest update available.

Just skimming the Mogul Forum again and found that there is a roster 3.00 update. I provided a link for it under the Mogul 2008 demo download area. Also a link is there for the 10.34 game version patch.
