Fist off, these guidelines and rules are all up for debate. These more or less outline the direction I had in mind for the league. What I think and what may actually be feasible may vary. All the GM's can place their opinions on these rules, suggest new ones, and they will be voted upon before the league starts. Rules may be subject to change as needs arise.
1) 25 man roster draft, CPU chooses the rest of your roster
2) You must have a true 1b, 2b, 3b, SS, LF, CF, RF , and C to start at every position. Players listed in Baseball Mogul as having more than one position may start at any of their positions listed. Some exceptions will be made if your player in real life had a position change in 2007 and I can back that up on a major league baseball site. (for instance Aubrey Huff is listed at 3b/OF, but for the Orioles was a starting 1b in 2007, never played the OF, and rarely played 3b) Your backup players listed at an infield position may play the entire INF, your back up players listed at an OF position can play any OF position. Anyone can play DH.
3) You CAN NOT trade draft picks. This isn't my choice, just that Baseball Mogul does not allow this. If you and another GM wish to trade a pick, perhaps you both can discuss which player to draft with the picks you have and then make a trade at the end of the draft.
4) Line up changes must be submitted to me by no later than 7PM EST before the day of the scheduled simulation day.
5) I expect you to set all of your lineups to me before the league starts, your LH, RH, with DH, without DH, and injury contigency lineups. You also must sort your pitching rotation, bullpen, and your AAA, AA, A, R depths.
6) When an injury occurs, I will notify a GM ASAP and he has until the allotted time to make a change if there is a need.
7) ~Optional Rule, I want something to stop people from just arbitrarily calling up and sending down players~ I am going to give each team 3 "options" for each player during their contract time with your team. This means you can move a player up and down from the minors 3 times during his tenure with your team. If you try to send a player down to the minors that is out of options, that player will be placed on a "waiver." His name will be broadcast to all of the teams and the teams will have rights of first refusal based on W-L record at the time. If the player is not claimed, the player goes back to his original team and can go to the minors and only be called up once more.
